We would like to share this project opportunity with you:
we would like to take part in an exchange programme with a partner school abroad sharing our same interests. Our idea is to welcome a group of foreign students in our school and involve them in our morning activities and afternoon projects. They would take part in our laboratorial and sports activities and in all what is included in our regular curriculum. This period should also include visits to Naples and Caserta and other significant places in our area. You will find here enclosed further information about our school.
LICEO SCIENTIFICO ” ENRICO FERMI” is situated in Aversa, an old Norman town between Naples and Caserta. Since 1967, the school has been offering a service aiming at combining the formal curriculum and the attention to the social and cultural life of the territory. The course is mainly projected towards a connection between a scientific culture and a humanistic tradition consequently the subjects studied by the pupils from 14 to 18 are Italian literature and grammar, Latin, History, Philosophy, Geography, Art, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Science, Physical Education, Religion. The central purpose is to provide the students with a technological and scientific competence interrelated with the different forms of knowledge. In this connection, laboratorial practice is widely adopted both for scientific and humanistic subjects. The school is equipped with Science, Maths and Language laboratories that work daily thanks to qualified technicians.
In order to increase and develop the instructive experiences provided by the curriculum every year, the school brings several projects into action involving the students in afternoon activities.
Some of these projects are connected with the beautiful botanical garden surrounding the building and spreading out about 8000 square metres. This area offers significant opportunities for civil, didactic and educational experience to the students. It includes 500 species of plants scientifically classified and attended by the students
Other projects are connected with sports activities such as athletics, soccer, volleyball and archery. Besides last January the school realized the project ” Sport, nature and culture” concerning the practice of winter sports like ski. The students spent one week on the mountains of Abetone in Tuscany and had ski lessons.
The projects carried on this year concerned two study-holidays : one month in a college in London and one week in a tourist village in Puglia with native speakers who had lessons with our students every day.
The Festival of philosophy in Magna Grecia takes place every year in our school and it is held in the ancient towns where the greatest philosophers used to work.
We look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible about the possibility to find a partner school who can join us.
